Attestation

Attestation is the process of providing formal proof or validation that something is true, genuine, or accurate. It often involves a third party or authoritative body verifying and affirming the authenticity or correctness of a document, statement, or claim.

For instance, in business, auditors provide attestation by confirming that financial statements accurately reflect a company’s financial status. Similarly, in legal contexts, a notary public may attest to the authenticity of a signature on a legal document.

In the case of a machine attestation, it proves the authenticity and legitimacy of the workloads from a device.

Automata brings attestations onchain, allowing users and developers to publicly verify these reports and for developers to integrate them into their applications to leverage a hardware root of trust.
